Cheryl E. Kunzelman

Cheryl Elaine Kunzelman, age 55, of Manchester, MI, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1969, in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Harold and Rachel (Raymond) Bross.

Cheryl was a devoted mother and deeply involved in her church community. As an active member of St. James United Church of Christ in Saline, she served on the church council for many years, including as council president. Her presence will be dearly missed.

Throughout her life, Cheryl spent much of her time at local fairs and was a former member of the Manchester Fair Board.

Cheryl’s passion for planning and attention to detail benefited all around her. Two fundraising initiatives spearheaded by Cheryl were the Alex Ahrens Scholarship and Fight for Feldkamp. She enjoyed traveling with her travel companion, Kelly Drake, golfing with partners, Julie Feldkamp and Amy Ernst, and playing euchre with friends and family who were very special to her. Cheryl dedicated over two decades to her career in accounting at ATA National Title Group, formerly Absolute Title, whose support during Alex’s illness was invaluable.

On September 9, 2017, Cheryl married Jeffrey S. Kunzelman, and he survives. She is also survived by a son, Jason (Delanie) Ahrens; her mother, Rachel Bross; a brother, Gary Bross, and nieces, Gillian and Delaney Bross all of Manchester; the father of her children, Roger Ahrens; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were very special to her. Cheryl was preceded in death by a son, Alex, who passed away at age 10, and her father, Harold Bross.

Visitation will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m, and on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The family will also receive friends at St. James United Church of Christ in Saline on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at St. James United Church of Christ in Saline, MI, with Pastor Case Van Kempen officiating.

Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton, MI.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dutchmen Firefighters Association or Make A Wish.
