Craig E. Perkins, age 83, of Munith, MI, passed away on July 7, 2022 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI. Craig was born on July 27, 1938 in Guilford, Maine to Byron and Georgia (Stover) Perkins.
Craig served in the United States Army during peacetime. He had lived in the Stockbridge and Munith area for the past 43 years. He was a member of the Stockbridge United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed spending time outside, fishing, and woodworking.
On February 14, 1970, he married Marjorie (Lane), and she survives him. They had four children: Shawn (Jessica) Perkins of Jackson, Elizabeth Noble of Stockbridge, and Russell (Debora) Benson of Maybee, MI, and a son who preceded him in death, Leslie Benson; also surviving are ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; his siblings, Sandra (Marvin) Taylor of Maine, and Leroy (Diana) Perkins of Maine. In addition to his son, Leslie, he was also preceded in death by three grandsons, David, Dustin, and Anthony.
A brief Memorial Service will be held at the Mackinder-Glenn American Legion Post #510 on Friday, July 15, 2022, 11:00 a.m., followed by military honors and then a luncheon to follow. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stockbridge United Methodist Church or Stockbridge Outreach. Arrangements by Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home.
