George W. Lee, 84, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The Detroit, Michigan native moved to Live Oak from Hudson, Ohio. Mr. Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as the President of the Alltel Telecommunications Co., Live Oak. He also was a member of the Live Oak Elks Lodge, Suwannee Country Club, and the First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lee is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joan E. Lee of Live Oak, FL; sons: Dale M. Lee of Bangkok, Thailand, and Greg A. Lee (Christina) of Lakewood, OH; sister, Karen Koengeter of Massachusetts; brother, Frank S. Lee (Nancy) of Michigan; and grandson, Evan A. Lee of Lakewood, OH.
A Memorial Service will be held in Michigan on Saturday, June 14, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, MI, where the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m.
Private interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given toto Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority (SAESA), or the First Methodist Church, 311 Ohio Avenue S, Live Oak, FL 32064.
