Joseph Dwayne Collins, age 54, of Jackson, MI (formerly of Stockbridge, MI), passed away on February 20, 2021 at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on March 24, 1966 in Mason, MI, son of Joseph D. and Barbara (Jackson) Collins, both deceased.
Joseph was a 1985 graduate of Stockbridge High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, finding treasures at flea markets, playing pool on a league, and taking trips to Florida.
Survivors include his daughter, Ta’Lia McBride; siblings, Linda (Larry) Adams, Lisa Hackworth, and Becky Collins; as well as special nieces and nephews, Larry Donald Adams, Tammy Schlaff, Jason (Danyel) Baldwin, Lynn Baldwin, Travis (T'Keyah) Collins, Tobias Clay, Tiffany Ryder, and several great- nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by maternal grandparents Bernie and Hazel Jackson and many aunts and uncles.
A gathering of friends and family is taking place on Friday, February 26, 2021, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, MI. Funeral directors are following current Michigan Department of Health and Human Services guidelines for COVID-19, allowing for 10 to pay their respects at one time; those attending will be instructed accordingly, and masks must be worn. Burial will be at Munith Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made directly to Joseph’s family.
