Raymond A. Slomiany, age 73, of Chelsea, MI, formerly of Ann Arbor, MI, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2023. Raymond was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 18, 1950, the son of Rudolph and Annette (Kaminski) Slomiany.
Raymond had lived in Chelsea for the past five years, moving from Ann Arbor, MI where he worked as a research scientist. Raymond's life was a testament to the power of simple pleasures and the importance of human connection. He was a man of quiet passion and integrity, and he found joy in the company of a good book, the intricacies of computer programming, and enjoyed collecting coins. He had a passion for fairness, understanding, and caring for others, and his willingness to lend a helping hand touched those around him.
Raymond is survived by two brothers, Wayne (Carol) Slomiany of Ann Arbor and Robert Slomiany of Ann Arbor, as well as his three nieces, two nephews, a grand-niece and several grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Dennis Slomiany.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, with Deacon Wayne Slomiany officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
Raymond's final resting place will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Ann Arbor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Center, Chelsea, MI.
