Edward M. Wheeler, age 39, of Dexter, MI, was taken from us on November 25, 2024, at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, where he was surrounded by his family. He was born on May 22, 1985, in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Gerald and Judith (Dunavin) Wheeler.
A lifelong resident of Dexter, Edward graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 2003. He owned and operated Ann Arbor Well Drilling. Edward’s greatest joy in life was his family. He married his high school sweetheart Kristin M. (Potter) on August 13, 2004, and together they raised three incredible sons, Matthew (14), Joshua (10), and Elliot (4). He had a passion for the outdoors, whether it was walking along the beaches of Lake Michigan with Kristin, hunting, fishing, or playing catch with his boys. He loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed being actively involved with his boys' many sports. Anyone that met him would say that he was an easy-going guy that loved to talk and enjoy the conversation. The world lost a great man, and he is going to be greatly missed by so many.
In addition to his wife and children, Edward is survived by his parents, Gerald and Judith Wheeler; his brother, Steven (Betty) Wheeler; his mother- and father-in-law, Michael and Betty Potter; his sister-in-law, Vanessa (David) Porter; his niece, Lylah Porter; his brother-in-law, Daniel Potter; and many very special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also treasured his dear friends and special family from Germany that he and his family visited when in Europe this past summer.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Ele’s Place, 5665 Hines Dr., Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
Arrangements by Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea.
