Estelle "Charlotte" Aldrich, of Grass Lake, MI, age 86, passed away on February 5, 2023 at Michigan Medicine Hospital in Ann Arbor. Charlotte was born on July 12, 1936 in Detroit, MI to Clyde and Ruth (McAtee) Wheeling.
She married William F. Aldrich on September 18, 1954, and he preceded her in death in November 2020. Charlotte and William lived in the Chelsea area for many years where they raised their family. After William retired, they moved to Homosassa, FL, where they resided for 35 years until 2020. They attended Faith Baptist Church in Chelsea, where Charlotte helped in taking care of the church, and Faith Baptist Church in Homosassa, FL where she was the pianist. Charlotte loved the Lord. She also loved listening to the radio and baking. She was a wonderful caretaker, and most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Charlotte is survived by three sons, Kirk (Marion) Aldrich of Chelsea, Robert (Susan) Aldrich of Indiana, and Kenny (Anna) Aldrich of Kentucky; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy (Don) Kepler of Ann Arbor, and John Wheeling of Nebraska. In addition to her husband, William, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Aldrich, a brother, Louis Wheeling, and sister-in-law, Kay Wheeling.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Baptist Church in Chelsea with Pastor Adam Summers officiating. Burial will be at North Sharon Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5-8 p.m., and also on Friday at the church from 10-11 a.m.
