Laurmer "Jack" Barbour, age 80, of Munith, MI, passed away on July 18, 2023 in Jackson, MI. Jack was born on August 5, 1942 in Gregory, MI, the son of Laurmer and Ruth (Hoard) Barbour. He had lived in the Gregory area all of his life.
Jack proudly served in the United States Army. On August 14, 1964, he married Karen J. (Herbert) in Fowlerville, MI, and they enjoyed nearly 58 years of marriage. Jack had worked for Pfizer for 38 years. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, and he enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and reading. Most of all, Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by four children, Troy Barbour of Louisiana, Annette Barbour of Howell, MI, Patrice Elkins of Jackson, MI, and Christine (Michael) Bremiller of Jackson, MI; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Olson of Tennessee, and Kathy Freeman of Ypsilanti. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Steven Barbour, June Sherman, and Patricia Cahoon.
Funeral services will be held at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Missy Noll officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
