William Joseph Crews, age 63, of Stockbridge, Michigan, formerly of Chelsea and Westland, MI, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on March 24, 2023.
He was born the son of Joe W. and Rose Marie (Couturier) Crews on March 30, 1959. On November 8, 1980, he married Julie Ann (Postal) in Canton, Michigan, and she survives.
William was drafted by the Detroit Tigers out of high school and eventually played for the Eastern Michigan University Hurons. He enjoyed music, golf, playing the drums, and playing slow pitch softball. Family and friends were most important to him. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his entire family.
In addition to his wife, Julie, he is survived by his children, Samantha (Mac) Jones, Stephanie Crews, Sarah ( Bill) Nesbitt, Steven Crews, and Scott Crews; grandchildren, Bailey and Brianna. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Lynn Rollet) Crews. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Crews, Anita Platt, and Linda Miller.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
