Robert H. Ray, 62, of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away on July 14, 2024, at Chelsea Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Donald and Mary (Huziak) Ray. He had lived in the Chelsea area since 2008, moving from Dexter.
Robert's life was marked by his dedication to family and his love for the outdoors. As an Eagle Scout, he showed a passion for nature that endured throughout his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a skilled craftsman and took pride in building and fixing things.
He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family. He cherished time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, particularly delighting in their time spent around the pool. He was an avid Detroit Lions and University of Michigan fan, and he loved playing baseball. He also attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dexter.
On August 14, 2010, he married Pamela A. (Stephens), and she survives. He is also survived by four children: Charisse (Jason) Kushmaul of Bath, Vanessa (Alan) Tobias of Manchester, Robert Ray of Chelsea, and Alana Dalton of Chelsea; seven cherished grandchildren: Jessie, Gracie, Griffin, Serenity, Maxine, Ronin, and Conan; his siblings: Donald (Nancy) Ray of Stockbridge, Daniel (Cheryl) Ray of Munith, Cindy Jarson of Ann Arbor, Sandy (Brian) Chapman of Stockbridge, Mary Kay (Bobby) Craig of Whitmore Lake, and Lori (Bob) Cook of Munith; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John Ray.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Faith in Action.
