Jerry Patrick, age 71, of Jackson, Michigan completed a life well-lived on April 14, 2020. He valued family and hard work, building his life around both.
Jerry was a two time Purple Heart recipient, serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Clark Equipment and retired as a Corrections Officer from the MDOC. He enjoyed watching WWE like his father, gardening with his sisters, and sharing his famous “stolen” macaroni salad recipe at family dinners.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Pamela, sons Jerry (Roxana) and Chad (Heather), step-son, Scott (Dea), and step-daughter, Shandya (Chad); and sisters, Tessie Warrens, Bertha Phelan, and Jeanette (Wesley) Gipe. Also surviving are grandchildren, Rebecca, Christina, and Sam Patrick, Reigahn and Reise Elowsky, and Olivia Rice; sisters-in-law, Linda and Sharon Patrick, many nieces and nephews, and fur baby, Bella. Jerry was born on Stone Coal Road in Garrett, KY to the late Woodrow and Artie (Wallen) Patrick. He was preceded in death by siblings, Bob, Glessie (Garlen) Warrens, Leonard, Janice (Jimmie) Elliott, infant brother, Terry, brother-in-law, Farlen Warrens, father-in-law, John Parylak, and four-legged friends, Chloe and Loki.
A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held on Friday, July 31, 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Munith, MI. Pastor Scott Castle will officiate and a luncheon will follow at 7129 Coon Hill Road. Important note: if you’re attending the Memorial Service and/or the luncheon, please be considerate of social distancing. If you’re ill or have had any COVID-related symptoms, we are asking for you to join us in spirit instead. Also, if you are going to the cemetery via Kennedy Road, please note that the bridge is out. You may want to seek an alternate route.
