Richard Lowell Schaules, age 78, formerly of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away on January 18, 2022 at Riverside Convalescent Center in Saluda, VA. Richard was born on November 1, 1943 in Detroit, MI to Richard E. and Alberta (Blieske) Schaules.
Richard had lived in the Chelsea area for most of his life. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1961, and then served in the United States Army, being discharged in 1964. He worked for many years as a postal carrier. He enjoyed photography and spending time out of doors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or spending time on the water.
He is survived by his sister, Gayle (Larry) Fletcher of Chelsea, two nieces, Kelly (Ian) Boone of Chelsea, and Stacey (Kyle) Lott of Battle Creek, four great-nephews, and one great-niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea, Michigan at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith in Action, Chelsea. Arrangements by Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home.
