Dorothy Marie Summers, age 90, of Jackson, MI, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born the daughter of Cecil D. and Jessie E. (Challiss) Sanders on October 14, 1933 in Howell, Michigan. On April 11, 1953, she married Calvin Summers, and he preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and kept her house immaculate. She enjoyed working for Jiffy in Chelsea for over 13 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Delia Rene (Mark) Ramalia, Michael (Charlene) Summers, Calvin (Denise) Summers, and Randy (Elaine) Summers. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nathan and Justin Ramalia, Jorden (William) Binschus, J.D. (Sarah) Summers, Raven (Paul) Oleski, Kristina (Shawn) Davis, Kara Summers, Austin Marshall, Ona (Jay) Erdt, and Jason Smith; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kitty Smith, and son-in-law, Steve Smith; sister, Betty (Sonny) Wagner, and a brother, Delmer (Nancy) Sanders.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place, and a private burial will take place at North Lake Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of your choosing.
