Russell Lee Beeman, age 74, of Lansing, MI, formerly of Chelsea, MI, passed away on February 25, 2025 at University of Michigan-Sparrow Hospice House in Lansing, MI. Russell was born on November 29, 1950, in Stockbridge, MI, the son of Donald and Barbara (Stoker) Beeman.
Russell lived in the Lansing area for the past 30 years. He had many talents and passions. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1968. He earned a degree in nursing from Michigan State University. He had a love for learning and continued his education for many years. He enjoyed gardening and putting together flower arrangements, and he built his own greenhouse. Russell was an avid woodworker, always creating pieces that reflected his craftsmanship and creativity. He also enjoyed researching his family’s genealogy, especially tracing the Beeman family history.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Beeman of Chelsea, a sister, Darlene Kaminski of Munith; three brothers: John (Pat) Beeman, Rick (Lisa) Beeman, and Bobby (Sheryl) Beeman, all of Chelsea; an aunt, Linda Stoker of Grass Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Beeman; a sister, Lisa Pane; a sister-in-law, Karen Beeman; and a brother-in-law, Larry Kaminski.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Mt Hope Waterloo Cemetery with V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
