Richard J. Titterington Sr., age 84, passed away on February 11, 2023 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. Richard was born on November 21, 1938 in Detroit, MI to Walter and Julia (Litwin) Titterington.
He had lived in the Chelsea area for just a few months. He grew up in Utica and lived in Capac, Michigan. Richard served in the US Army from 1957-1959. He had worked for 23 years for Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or camping, and he enjoyed spending time up north. He was a talented mechanic, specializing in auto body and automotive repair. He also farmed in Michigan and Wisconsin.
On June 22, 1957, he married Eileen (Nelson), and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Brenda (Chuck) Hyde of Cedar Springs, MI, Anne (Ed) Hubscher of Whitmore Lake, and Patrick (Judy) Titterington of White Bear Lake, MN; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Julia (John) Detroyer of Emmet, MI. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard J. Titterington, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation of America.
Cremation will take place at this time, and a memorial service will take place at a later date at Berlin Twp. Cemetery in Allenton, MI.
