Heather Grifka, age 43, of Chelsea, MI, passed away with her family by her side on May 29, 2020. She was born on August 17, 1976 in Ann Arbor, MI, daughter of Phillip S. and Barbara (Abbey) Wilson. On August 12, 2017, she married Keith Grifka and he preceded her in death.
Heather loved animals of all kinds, and she enjoyed dancing, playing the flute, and creating art. She is survived by her animals: Jasper the dog, Heidi the cat, and her snakes Ophelia and Steve. Heather is now riding on the wings of her horse, Sky. She is also survived by her parents; her siblings, Sarah (Lonnie) Hafner and Jason (Adele) Wilson; her nieces and nephew, Joey, Shelby, Colette, and Olivia; and her grandfather, Jack Abbey. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annette Abbey, and her grandparents, Herbert and Lillian Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, MI. Visitation will be at the church the same day, 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Directors are strictly following current CDC recommendations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and those in attendance will be instructed accordingly. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Barn Sanctuary in Chelsea, MI.
