Robert Francis Keiser, of Chelsea, MI, age 93, passed away on February 20, 2023 at his home.
Robert was born on June 15, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Walter and Viola (Kelch) Keiser. Robert lived in the Chelsea area for 60 plus years. He graduated from Stockbridge High School, Class of 1947. Bob worked at Dana Corporation for over 35 years, while also driving school bus for the Chelsea School District for 30 plus years. He was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.
Bob married Judith A. (Haines) in 1954, and they enjoyed many years of raising a family, farming, racing horses, driving school bus, bowling and attending their eight children’s endless list of sporting events. Judy preceded him in death on June 18, 2003. In 2006, he married Nancy Morgan, and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
Surviving are his children: Stephen (Sandra) Keiser of Gregory, Kenneth Keiser (Sandi) of Jackson, David (CeCe) Keiser of Chelsea, Karen (Eric) Keiser of Ann Arbor, Joseph Keiser of Munith, Sandra (Scott) Keiser of Munith, and Melissa (Gary) Handloser of Grass Lake; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Judith, and second wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Keiser, as well as his siblings: LaVern Keiser, Valbert Keiser, Donald Keiser, Charles Keiser, Millie Bollheimer, Mary Rose Borges, and Ruth Ann Keiser.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., with Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, with V. Rev. Dr. William J. Canon Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea.
