Janet S. Schulze, age 81, of Jackson, MI, formerly of Chelsea, MI passed away on August 14, 2021. She was born on August 5, 1940 in Salyersville, KY the daughter of Doctor Boone and Mary (Dyer) Hoskins. Janet had moved from Kentucky to the Chelsea area in the mid 1950’s. She graduated from Chelsea High School, class of 1959. She married Timothy A. Schulze on October 6, 1961 in Chelsea, and he preceded her in death in 2007. She had lived in the Jackson area since 2002.
Janet enjoyed bowling and taking care of her great-grandbabies. She enjoyed the Chelsea Fair every year and was Superintendent of the Compact Tractor Pulls. She also enjoyed going to Vegas with her husband when he was alive.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Tami McDougal, four grandchildren: Randell (Melissa) Boyer, Stephanie (Duckie) Vogel, Timothy (Haley) Schulze, Boone (Heather) McDougal; fifteen great-grandchildren: Christopher, Tyler (Carissa), David, Breanna, Maddie, KayLynn, Brayden, Charly, D.C., Natalee, T.J., Kora, Logan, Lucas, and Ava-Claire; two great-great-grandchildren: Bentlee and Royce; one sister, Barbara Flaugher, three aunts, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, Tim, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Schulze in 1998, her parents, Doc and Mary Hoskins, her in-laws, Les and Leone Schulze, her brother, Herman Hoskins, her brother-in-law, Allan Flaugher, a niece, Brenda Flaugher, and nephew, Paul Flaugher.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Staffan Mitchell Funeral Home, followed by a Graveside Service at Oak Grove East Cemetery.
