Ernest F. Aldrich Jr., age 90, of Dexter, MI, passed away on July 9, 2024 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI.
Ernest was born on March 1, 1934 in Chelsea, MI, the son of Ernest Sr. and Doris (Roepcke) Aldrich. He had lived in Dexter all of his life, where he attended Dexter Gospel Church. He married Janet A. (Koch) in Dexter, MI on June 10, 1955, and they enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage until her death in 2023.
Ernest worked as an electrician, a job he was dedicated to and enjoyed immensely. He worked for Aldrich Electric, Inc., with his wife, Janet, and was a member of the IBEW 252 in Ann Arbor for 34 years.
Ernest is survived by two children, Pamela Gomberg of Dexter, and Tim Aldrich of Dexter; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Aldrich of Pinckney; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, William Aldrich, John Aldrich, Annabell Corey, Betty Bailey, and Mary Aldrich; and a son-in-law, Robert Gomberg.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice or Chelsea Hospital.
