Mary I. Laturie, of Gregory, MI, age 77, passed away on April 28, 2023. Mary was born on July 9, 1945 in Detroit, MI and was the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Wines) Pomerico.
She had lived in the Gregory area since 1972, where she owned and operated Windbrook Boarding Kennel for over 45 years. Mary enjoyed meeting many people from the surrounding areas and thoroughly loved the dogs she watched over. Mary was very involved in the dog show world, breeding, handling, and showing her beloved Irish Setters. Mary loved spending time with her friends and family, spoiling her grandchildren, attending music festivals, and Elvis.
Surviving are her three children, Denise DeVellis of Owosso, Wendy (Geoffrey) Galliher of Pinckney, and Laura (Andrew) Sulkowski of Howell; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph Pomerico, Albert Pomerico, and Peter Pomerico, and two sisters: Carol Newland, and Pat Pomerico.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge, MI.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Stricklin officiating. Burial will follow at Plainfield Cemetery in Unadilla Twp.
Following the burial, the family will have a reception with light refreshments at the Back Street Hall, 114 N Center St., Stockbridge.
