Earl G. Richmond, age 89, of Stockbridge, MI, passed away very peacefully at the Mother Teresa Hospice House in Lansing, MI on June 26, 2021. Earl was born on October 18, 1931 in Gregory, MI, son of Bangs N. and Veva (Wilson) Richmond. His wife, Monica, preceded him in death.
Earl moved from Gregory to Ocala, FL in 1973, residing there for 38 years. He was a truck driver and he loved it. He moved back to Stockbridge, where he loved spending time with his sons, riding around and talking about the old times and his experiences with driving trucks. He truly loved truck driving and farming. Even though he was blind, he loved to help Butch and Steve cut wood and to putter around the garages with farm equipment.
He is survived by his sons, Butch (Abigail) Richmond of Stockbridge, and Steve (Eve) Richmond of Gregory; two granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Monica, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald, and siblings, Francis, Hugh, Norman, Melvin, and Jack.
Per Earl’s request, cremation has taken place, and he will be taken to Ocala, FL for interment on the day he would have been 90 years old. A gathering of friends and family is planned on Friday, August 20, 2021, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge.
