Willadean Miles, of Dexter, MI, age 85, passed away on June 28, 2023 at Legacy Assisted Living Center in Jackson, MI.
Willadean was born on January 23, 1938 in McArthur, OH, the daughter of Woodrow and Dollie (Hoskins) Gullett. She was raised in Chelsea, MI and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1956. After high school she worked at Federal Screw Works in Chelsea, State Farm Insurance in Ann Arbor, Fortune Industries for 12 years, Gelman Sciences in Ann Arbor for eight years, and Veridian Erim International in Ann Arbor for 15 years before retiring.
Willadean married David W. Miles on February 9, 1957 in Chelsea, MI, and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2021. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and she dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two children, Rex D. Miles and Lori (Stanley) Ashcraft; two grandchildren, Jayma (Bradley) Whitehead and Jerid Hollenbeck; and three great-grandchildren, Haley Joanne, Hannah Lynne, and Harper Katherine. In addition to her husband, David, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Hollenbeck.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Faith Baptist Church in Chelsea, MI, with Pastor Adam Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea, MI.
Visitation will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
